Besides having the best street teams and management in the country for urban field publicity, having the coolest retail partner Footaction USA (41 states & the influential consumer group), the ability to create and distribute custom publications & paper trailors nationally, and access to Motorola’s 2-way pager promotion (Movie logo placement and distribution at a refundable price at only $2 each), we have a brand new tool that will be a great addition to your marketing mix: “The Mixed CD”.

Mix CD’s are a way of life for urban youth. It brings them the hot sounds first and in such a way that they feel culturally connected to it. The music industry has long allowed music to be “leaked” in order to give the street a taste of what’s to come. Also many underground and commercial artist grant freestyles or shout out requests to these mix tape Dj’s in order to retain street credibility. It is now time for Hollywood to use this tool and strategy to bring films to the street!

This premium will provide an organic element to our marketing mix because it will be positioned as the square root of grassroots, so recipients will feel privileged to receive it and to discover the messages we inject as interludes between the hottest hip hop singles (can include tracks from the soundtrack if they are hot enough). This tool is definitely buzz inspiring!

Artwork can be created that ties the movie to the Mix CD; however, we suggest packaging that is “bootleg” style, which will make it appear that it originated from the streets not the suites.

Mentions of the movie, the stars, plot points and release date will be incorporated as interlude content in various ways; as an intro, outro, shout out, snippets of interesting dialog/jokes, official web address etc.

Please call us for production costs.

UMCA's urban movie division has been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the following films as a field publicity consultant: Barbershop (MGM), Brown Sugar (Fox Searchlight), Knock Around Guys (New Line), Friday After Next (New Line), and The Antoine Fisher Story (Fox Searchlight).

We are extremely hopeful that we will be retained by Miramax (Undisputed), Dreamworks (Head Of State), and Universal (8 Mile) shortly.
